Hallmark's NEW Signature line

During Oscar weekend here in LA, I was invited to the GBK Oscar gifting lounge by my friends at Hallmark, to check out some of the swag the movie stars received over Oscar weekend.

Along with shoes, bags, jewelry, and all sorts of food and other goodies, was the new Hallmark Signature line of fun and beautiful cards.

I’ve always LOVED a beautifully designed and written greeting card! And this new batch from Hallmark Signature are seriously some of the most creative and fanciful ones I’ve ever seen.

Years ago I met the Hallmark folks at a social media conference and got a chance to speak with some of their very talented card writers…(DREAM job in my book). I was so taken by their process and after seeing their new line, have decided it’s time for me to send more snail mail. I miss getting cards in the mail, and I am 100 percent sure that others do too.

Digital messages of love are lovely, but there is nothing like receiving beautiful, heart-felt card in the mail from a friend or dear family member.

Check out some of my favorites from the line below and a link to see the whole fabulous collection. I LOVE the 3-D effects of sprinkles and little gems and other playful effects. And the wooden cards!! Perfect for popping into a frame to be kept forever.

Cheers to more cards in the mail!!

PS Have you seen these Wonder Woman stamps? I'll be placing them on dozens of envelopes for sure.

Ways to Celebrate Women This Weekend

Today we're celebrating Women's History Month, the MeredithPlays way.

None of these are history lessons, or serious talks, or trivia on which First Lady grew the best beets. Instead, these are ways you may not have thought to celebrate the women of history as well as the women in your everyday life (shine theory, ya'll!).

Rock some Rosie the Riveter socks

Put a little power in your stride and confidence in your day with these total girl power socks. Pair with your most awesome boots, and your ready to take on anything.

Color in a Color Her Coloring Book

Women are so so different, a big jumble of different talents and skills and beautiful things. This coloring book takes that quite literally, letting you mix and match to create your very own super woman. You can also check out these awesome printable coloring pages.

Listen to ladies talk

The Inflection Point podcast with Lauren Schiller is a great listen. You'll hear from super inspiring women, and feel like you are ready to take on the world after each episode.

Lookin' pretty with a purpose

The jewelry from Noonday Collection is absolutely stunning, and the story behind their goods is awe-inspiring. Noonday is a socially responsible business that uses the sale of hand-made goods to help empower people around the world.

Grab a good read

My number one recommendation for a book by a female author right now is Eleanor Roosevelt's "You Learn By Living". She covers everything from education to marital issues to women in the workplace to girl friends. Her wisdom is timeless.

If you're looking for something a little more obscure, check out Emily Books. They publish and sell plenty of books you've probably never heard of before.

Wear this shirt. Be a Legend

In the words of the legendary rock goddess herself, Stevie Nicks, "Don't be a lady, but a legend." Not only is this shirt so good looking, it's one small push when you look in the mirror that you CAN do it.

There are so many great organizations around the country right now that pair up women with young girls to do pretty much anything! Showing girls that the world is theirs, and that they have our support, is so important. I recommend to find something that fits your interests.

Bonus: Watch this Spice Girls remake music video. You'll be humming it the rest of the day.

Later this month, I'll be sharing ways to inspire the next generation of awesome ladies through some of the same playful ways.

This post is not sponsored by any of the above companies or products. It is just one small way to celebrate women.

Most Anticipated Toys of 2017

This morning on Home & Family I shared some of my absolute faves from this year's Toy Fair in New York City. Out of the hundreds of thousands of new toys that were previewed during the toy fair, I chose four that are coming out later this year.

You can learn more about the full episode here.

Mark your calendars; these releases are going to be super popular this year and will make awesome birthday or holiday gifts.
