Do you plan to:
Declaw your adopted cat/kitten?
Spay/Neuter your adopted cat/kitten?
Please answer this question honestly. We will NOT deny your application if you intend to declaw. We WILL offer tips and suggestions and encourage you to try alternative thoughts on this procedure. If you must declaw we strongly suggest the new laser surgical procedure which actually removes less of the bone and is more humane. There may be certain cats who would not do as well with declawing and we reserve the right to prevent owners who intend on declawing from adopting these specific cats. Thanks for your understanding.
Do you own or rent your home?
Most kittens are born with intestinal parasites such as roundworms or hookworms. Ideally a kitten should be dewormed starting at 2 weeks of age, and again every two weeks through the 10th week of its life. All WWR felines (kittens and adults) are started on deworming medication. Because it can take several rounds of this medication to fully rid a pet of parasites, your new cat or kitten may come to you needing additional medication. We recommend bringing a fecal sample to your first vet appointment with you, to see what specifically your vet would recommend. Are you willing to continue your newly adopted pet on an immediate and lifelong parasite TREATMENT and PREVENTION program?
Wright-Way Rescue recomends bringing your newly adopted pet for a health check-up within 72 hours of adoption. Touhy Animal Hospital offers this initial check up free of charge to adopters. You may choose to use Touhy Animal Hospital or any other vet of your choice. Will you agree to bring your new pet in for a check-up immediately after you adopt (within 72 hours)?
I understand that filling out this survey/application does not guarantee that I will be approved for adoption. I also understand that the majority of pets offered to adoption at Wright-Way Rescue are mixed breed and that their exact breed mixture is not able to be guaranteed.
Wright-Way Rescue quarantines all of it's adoptable pets prior to offering them for adoption. Because they come from "high risk" situations and we do not have control over their previous exposure to other pets and the environement, we cannot guarantee them. All medical bills are the adopters sole responsibility post-adoption and WWR is not obligated or able to pay any vet bills. Please check yes if you understand and agree to this policy.
I certify that to the best of my ability, the above information is accurate and true. I realize that providing false information will disqualify me from adopting a pet through Wright-Way Rescue. Please type first and last name.
